PETALING JAYA: MCA took a swipe at the Pakatan Harapan Government after a Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) grassroots member criticised the ambitious flying car project.
Earlier, at Amanah's national convention, a delegate from Pahang, Mohd Fazli Mohd Ramli, called the flying car project among one of the useless government projects.
"Even Amanah's own delegates have thrashed the Pakatan government and even worse, a grassroots leader has bashed the flying car project which he says is useless," said MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong in a Facebook post on Sunday (Dec 8).
Dr Wee said he was directing his comments at Entrepreneur Development Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof who first announced the concept of the flying car in February.
"What does the flying car minister from Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia has to say now?" he asked.
In the same post, he also took a swipe at Amanah president and deputy president, Mohamad Sabu and Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub, over the alleged RM1.4bil contract which was supposedly directly awarded to the National Farmers Organisation (Nafas) by the Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Ministry.
He said direct negotiations went against Pakatan's GE14 manifesto which listed that it would adopt the open tender method for all projects.
"I'm surprised this was not brought up at the convention. What does Bang Mat (Mohamad Sabu) as party president have to say about this," he said.
