48 complaints involving umrah and pilgrimage travel packages from Jan to present


KUALA LUMPUR: There were 48 complaints received by the Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry over umrah and pilgrimage travel packages from January to October this year, says Deputy Minister Muhammad Bakhtiar Wan Chik (PH-Balik Pulau).

Out of the 48 complaints, the government had taken action against seven cases of umrah and pilgrimage travel packages, where compounds worth a total of RM129,500 were issued under the Tourism Industry Act 1992, said Muhammad Bakhtiar.
