PETALING JAYA: Toddler Ainul Mardhiah Ahmad Safiuddin, who successfully underwent an operation to remove a rare germ cell tumour, is all smiles.
In an Instagram post uploaded by her mother Nurul Erwani Zaidi, the 15-month-old child, is seen happily interacting with people, believed to be her family members.
In the video, Ainul is seen playfully taking down the blanket placed over her twice, as she smiled at her family members.
Nurul Erwani wrote in the post that Ainul was having fun playing together.
The post was viewed over 66,000 times at time of writing on Sunday (Dec 1), and received more than 16,000 likes.
Many people said Ainul was cute and adorable, as well as wished her a speedy recovery.
In May, Ainul travelled to London with her parents and underwent a five-hour operation at the Great Ormond Street Hospital to remove a 200g tumour on June 10.
The surgery was performed by a group of specialist doctors from different fields together with UK-based trainee surgeon Dr Nur Amalina Che Bakri, who brought the baby and her parents to London to seek treatment.
Ainul's plight caught not just Malaysians but also Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad who also visited her when he was in the United Kingdom on a three-day working visit in June.
It received the public's attention when a video recording of the baby who had a tumour in her mouth went viral on social media.
Late last month, Ainul's father Ahmad Safiuddin Ahmad Razak said his daughter is not only active, but has been interactive with people and seen smiling.
He told Harian Metro that her weight has increased to 4.2kg compared to 3.7kg in the past.
Nurul Erwani also told the Malay daily that Ainul is going through physiotherapy to improve the mobility of parts of her body.
