71-year-old man claims he was molested by elderly man in Taiping

IPOH: A 71-year-old man in Taiping claims he was molested by another senior citizen after he was given something to drink that left him in a dazed state.

Taiping OCPD Asst Comm Osman Mamat said the victim was in his house in Simpang, Taiping at about 9am on Nov 11 when the 64-year-old suspect approached the victim on the pretext of selling medication.

ACP Osman said the victim was having a backache at the time and followed the man to his car.

"During the ride, the suspect gave the victim a drink and he ended up in a dazed state.

"The suspect then took the opportunity to molest and sexually assault the victim," he said.

ACP Osman said the suspect was arrested on Nov 20 and has been remanded for three days.

The case is being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code for assault or the use of criminal force on a person with the intent to outrage modesty.

The suspect is also being investigated under Section 377D of the same Code with committing gross indecency.
