KOTA KINABALU: The state's Elephant Conservation Action Plan 2020-2030 is expected to include clauses that will hold plantation workers and owners accountable for any elephants hurt and killed on land.
While the Federal Government is looking at amending laws to impose stricter punishment for wildlife-related crimes, the Sabah government meanwhile hopes the guidelines will push the plantation industry to adopt this mentality.
