Foundation and trust working together to protect pygmy elephants in Sabah


KOTA KINABALU: Efforts are underway to protect the remaining 1,500 pygmy elephants in the world, a majority of which are in Sabah.

Through the Borneo Pygmy Elephant Project in Kinabatangan, the Intrepid Foundation and Responsible Elephant Conservation Trust (Respect) were diligently managing the intricate challenge of human-elephant conflict by overseeing expansive habitats across the state, with a singular focus on protecting the pygmy elephants and ensuring their continued existence.
