Muhyiddin heads Melaka Governor’s honours list


MELAKA: Home Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin (pic) heads the list of 566 recipients bestowed with awards and honours in conjunction with the 81th birthday of Yang di-Pertua Negri Tun Mohd Khalil Yaakob today.

Muhyiddin will receive the Darjah Utama Negeri Melaka (DUNM), which carries the title Datuk Seri Utama.

The first session of the investiture ceremony is scheduled for tomorrow.

Melaka state secretary Datuk Hasim Hasan said Muhyiddin was the sole recipient of the DUNM title this year.

He said a total of 165 recipients will receive their awards and honours in the first session, 247 during the second session on Sunday and another 154 on Nov 4.

He said 13 people are awarded the Darjah Gemilang Seri Melaka (DGSM), which carries the title Datuk Seri.

They include Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir, Agriculture and Agro-based Industries Minister Datuk Salahuddin Ayub, Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) board member Tan Sri Rashpal Singh, Tenaga Nasional Bhd CEO Amir Hamzah Azizan, Mamee Double Decker (M) Sdn Bhd CEO Datuk Pang Tee Nam and One Belt One Road (Chamber of Commerce) chairman Tan Thian Lai.

Eight individuals will receive the Darjah Cemerlang Seri Melaka (DCSM), which carries the title Datuk Wira.

Among them are Melaka High Court judge Datuk Ahmad Nasfy Yasin, Deputy Foreign Minister Datuk Marzuki Yahya and Deputy Works Minister Mohd Anuar Mohd Tahir.

The Darjah Mulia Seri Melaka (DMSM), with the title Datuk, is awarded to nine people while 77 will be awarded the Darjah Pangkuan Seri Melaka (DPSM) which carries the title Datuk.
