EVEN though it has been decades since National Laureate Prof Dr Siti Zainon Ismail left school, she still remembers the names of her teachers and the ways in which they guided her to pursue her interests.

The doyenne of the Malay arts and culture scene, who was appointed the 14th National Laureate earlier this month, shares memories of her formative years with Sunday Star in an interview on Thursday at her studio in Kuala Lumpur.
