Orang Asli tailors proud to sew Jalur Gemilang sashes

TAPAH: Words just could not describe how Teh Bah Rahmat felt when she was entrusted with sewing 100 Jalur Gemilang flags and turn them into sashes to be worn by the Orang Asli contingent at the state-level National Day parade in Taiping today.Teh, 55, said she and six other Orang Asli tailors from the Semai tribe, known as Ceknik Group (Ceknik means tailoring in Orang Asli’s dialect) received the order last week.

“We were so happy, proud and excited to get the job.
