Due to safety measures, no injuries reported in Sri Petaling condo mishap, say developers

PETALING JAYA: Developers of Pinnacle Sri Petaling condominium say no injuries were reported when the corridor of one level gave way.

The construction mishap in Bandar Sri Petaling occurred on June 25.

Developer, Pinnacle Homes SP Sdn Bhd, said that due to the precautionary and safety measures adopted, none of the workers were injured.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the cause of the accident was due to insufficient support during the concrete casting process.

“The incident only affected three levels of the corridor for Tower B and the main building structures of the whole project remains completely sound and intact.

"We assure you we will never compromise the quality and safety of our projects,” they said in a letter to their buyers and associates on Thursday (July 4).

The letter was forwarded to The Star Online.

They said that they have also instructed their contractors to take additional measures to ensure the incident doesn’t occur again in the future.

“Clearing works have been ongoing for a few days and the construction works for the project is ongoing. The incident will not affect the delivery of the project,” they said.

They added that they would take legal action against malicious and defamatory speculation about the incident to protect their buyers and their interests.

Pictures of the incident had been widely circulating on social media networks in the past few days.

The construction of the condominium is expected to be completed in 2021.
