Video of duo dumping waste off Farquhar Street goes viral

GEORGE TOWN: Two men who came in a lorry were seen disposing of waste into the sea off Farquhar Street here Friday (April 19).

A 90-second video of the incident has gone viral. The two men are seen walking back and forth to the lorry before emptying the waste, said to be from a construction site, into the sea.

Penang Environment Committee chairman Phee Boon Poh said the incident took place at about 2pm Friday.

He said the lorry has been identified via a closed circuit television (CCTV) camera.

He said Penang Housing, Local Government, Town and Rural Development Committee chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo would give a press conference on the incident on Saturday (April 20).
