JOHOR BARU: Newly minted Mentri Besar Dr Sahruddin Jamal (pic) wants to have "his team" when appointing a new line-up of state executive councillors.
He said that he has 14 days to make the appointment and was coy about who will be the ones to be appointed to the post.
Presently, there are 10 state executive councillors, including four from DAP and two each from Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, Parti Amanah Negara and PKR.
Dr Sahruddin, who was previously state Health, Environment and Agriculture committee chairman, said that Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar wanted him to carry out his duties as a trustworthy leader.
He was speaking to reporters during a special press conference after his swearing-in ceremony on Sunday (April 14) morning.
Also with him were state Pakatan Harapan leaders, including former mentri besar Datuk Osman Sapian.
He later hugged Osman and thanked him for his services and advice.
Osman said that business was as usual for him and he would continue to serve his constituents.
Earlier today, Dr Sahruddin was sworn in as the 17th Johor Mentri Besar at Istana Bukit Serene here.
The Bukit Kepong assemblyman took his oath of office before the Johor Ruler.
