IPOH: Those responsible for clearing the 10ha piece of land at Bukit Kledang here need to be brought to justice, Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) has urged.
Its central committee member R. Moharani said there have been no updates on who was responsible for the encroachment of state land despite a police report having been lodged in February.
“It has been nearly three weeks but we still don’t know who is responsible for the land clearing.
“We are disappointed that despite lodging the report, the government has yet to reveal who was behind this,” Moharani told a press conference at the site Thursday (March 7).
It was reported that some 10ha of hills at Kledang Saiong here have been cleared for an unknown project.
This prompted concerns from members of the public and Sahabat Alam Malaysia about the condition of the hills.
It was later revealed that the clearing of land was done illegally to plant oil palm trees.
The state-owned Mentri Besar Inc said it has launched an investigation and promised action would be taken against those involved.
