‘MoF has final say on hospital’

GEORGE TOWN: The Finance Ministry has the final say on any new hospital to be built in Semenyih, says Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad.

He said while the Health Ministry could do all the planning and designing, the funds would have to come from MoF.

He said he was open to the idea if it was supported by all, including Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and the MoF.

“If permission is granted, we do not have a problem in developing clinics or a hospital in Semenyih,” he said after opening Universiti Sains Malaysia’s Advanced Medical and Dental Institute 2nd International Oncology and Medical Physics Symposium 2019 here.

Dr Dzulkefly was commenting on a remark by Dr Mahathir that he would “ketuk kepala” (knock the head of) any minister who objected to a new hospital in Semenyih.
