PETALING JAYA: The driver of a BMW was burnt to death when the vehicle caught fire following an accident near Subang airport.

The 29-year-old victim is believed to have lost control of the vehicle, causing the car to swerve to the side of Jalan PJU 1A/1 before hitting a tree at about 4.45am yesterday.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zani Che Din said the impact of the crash caused the car to burst into flames.

“It took firemen 15 minutes to put out the flames.

“The body has been sent to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre for a post-mortem,” ACP Mohd Zani said.

He said the Petaling Jaya Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department traced his car chassis number to a company named Farmcochem Sdn Bhd, which is based in Silibin, Ipoh.

The victim is believed to have worked with the company.
