KAJANG: Two men and an elderly woman were burnt to death when their BMW burst into flames after crashing into a divider along the Silk Highway.
Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof said the accident occurred at about 6.20pm on Tuesday.
“The car was heading towards Sungai Long when it skidded and crashed into the divider at KM6.9.
“Three people in the car were trapped when it burst into flames,” he said.
ACP Ahmad Dzaffir said the bodies were extricated by the Fire and Rescue Department personnel and sent to Serdang Hospital for post-mortem as well as DNA analysis.
Head of Selangor Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department Supt Azman Shari’at said they were Goh Tian Hing, 44, who was driving the car; his mother Saw Yeng Fui, 65, who was seated in the front passenger seat; and his father, Goh Soay Sing, 68, seated in the rear seat.
Supt Azman said that their last known address was at Taman Anggerik Emas, Kajang, in Selangor.
In Lawas, a motorcyclist was killed while a Form Five student who was at a bus stop along Jalan Lawas Dalam, Kampung Batu Mulong was seriously injured in another accident yesterday.
Lois Jabli, 26, died at the scene after the driver of a pick-up truck suddenly veered his vehicle into his path.
Sarawak Traffic Enforcement and Investigation department head, Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the pick-up truck was heading towards Jalan Lawas Damit from Kampung Long Sebangan.
“After hitting the motorcycle, it swerved right and hit Frences Cherell Feluk of SMK Merapok who was waiting at a bus stop causing serious injuries to her right leg,” he said.
