MyCar lodges police report against driver offering sex service to passenger


KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): MyCar, an e-hailing service, has lodged a police report against one of its drivers who is believed to have offered sexual services to a passenger, as viralled on social media on Jan 27. 

Its corporate and communications division officer Nur Atika Mat Nor said a police report was lodged on Jan 28 at the Shah Alam Section 6 police station. 

“The report is to enable police to take appropriate action so that MyCar's reputation is maintained, and to get the victim to also lodge a police report for further action.

“MyCar has taken firm action against the driver involved by blacklisting his account,” she told Bernama on Monday (Feb 4).

According to her, MyCar has always emphasized the safety of its passengers and drivers.

Shah Alam district police chief ACP Baharudin Mat Taib confirmed receiving the report. 

“So far, we have only received a report from MyCar and have not heard anything from the victim,” he said, adding that no arrest has been made. - Bernama
