TUARAN: Two drivers sustained minor injuries after their vehicles collided with an out-of-control trailer on KM34.1 of Jalan Tamparuli-Ranau near Kampung Simpangan Lama here.
The trailer, which was transporting cars, was travelling downhill from Ranau to Tamparuli when a burst tyre caused it to veer out of control before crashing into a Perodua Kancil and Perodua Axia on the opposite lane at about 12.45pm on Saturday (Jan 26).
Tuaran OCPD Deputy Supt Dzulbaharin Ismail said the impact of the crash caused the Axia to plough into a Proton Iswara parked by the roadside.
"Both the Kancil and Axia drivers were slightly injured in the accident, while the trailer driver escaped unhurt," he added.
DSP Dzulbaharin said traffic was congested along the stretch of the road that was blocked by the trailer.
A team of policemen was despatched to the scene to control the traffic flow until the trailer was removed from the road.
