Two more held for murder of transgender

PETALING JAYA: Police are on the hunt for a suspect while two teenagers have been remanded in connection to the murder of a transgender woman in Klang.

The suspects, aged 16 and 17, will be held until Wednesday to assist in the case.

“We are still looking for one more suspect,” said South Klang police chief Asst Comm Shamsul Amar Ramli.

He said the assault, which led to the victim’s death, was due to a missing cellphone.

“It is not a hate crime,” he added.

It is learnt the attack started after the suspects claimed that the victim had stolen a cellphone from one of them.

So far, four suspects have been remanded.

Police arrested two suspects, aged between 19 and 21, shortly after the victim was viciously attacked in Bukit Tinggi, Klang, on Wednesday.

The post-mortem report showed she suffered a fractured skull and bleeding in the brain, with multiple bodily injuries.
