PETALING JAYA: Tun Dr Mahathir took time out to meet Palestinian war photographer and journalist Momen Faiz on Friday (Dec 14).
The Prime Minister shared a photo of him and Momen on Facebook, where Momen was photographed presenting his book to the Prime Minister.
Dr Mahathir said Momen accurately captured the situation in Palestine for the world to understand the conflict plaguing the nation.
"His legs were shot in three different incidents and in the last incident, he was shot in the chest.
"I propose that good planning and strategy are required in any struggle," Dr Mahathir wrote on Facebook.
"Our souls should not be controlled by emotions and we need to cooperate with many parties if we want to succeed," he said.
Momen is in Malaysia for a nationwide photo exhibition.
The 31-year-old photographer lost his legs when he was shot by Isreali forces while serving as a war photographer in Gaza in 2008.
The attack did not stop him from capturing the reality of the war and Momen was soon back in the war zone working.
