Temple riots: 16 remanded, including three One City workers


PETALING JAYA (Bernama): The magistrate’s court here has issued a remand order for between two and five days against 16 individuals, including three employees of One City Development Sdn Bhd (One City), to help in investigations into the commotion at the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple in USJ25 in Subang Jaya on Monday (Nov 26).

Magistrate Nor Ariffin Hisham on Tuesday (Nov 27) issued the order against the suspects, aged between 18 and 49, to facilitate police investigations under Section 435 of the Penal Code for mischief by fire, Section 148 of the same law for rioting, Section 427 of the same law for committing mischief, and Section 447 of the same law for criminal trespass.
