Motorist robbed and attacked at Batu 11 toll plaza

KAJANG: A motorist, who stepped out of his vehicle following a traffic collision at the Batu 11 Toll Plaza, was robbed of his cash and mobile phone.

Kajang Deputy OCPD Supt Mohd Sabri Abdullah said the incident occurred at around 10.55pm on Saturday (Oct 20).

"Initially, the victim had stopped at the Touch N Go reload lane when his truck was hit by a Proton Persona, which suddenly switched lanes.

"The driver of the Proton car got out of his car and dragged the victim out of his vehicle," he said when contacted on Sunday (Oct 21).

He said the suspect allegedly demanded RM1,000, but the victim said he did not have the money.

"The suspect became enraged and wanted to hold the victim's vehicle as collateral.

"The victim then called his employer for help and was advised to lodge a police report, and it was then that the suspect threatened to kill him if he didn't comply with his demands," he said, adding that the suspect demanded the victim and two of his passengers to surrender their cash and other valuables.

Supt Mohd Sabri added that the suspect slapped the victim's face during the confrontation.

"We have identified the suspect and are tracing his whereabouts.

"Anyone with information on the case should contact the police hotline at 03-2052 9999 or visit the nearest police station," he said.
