‘I hope Anwar upholds party agenda’

PORT DICKSON: Independent candidate Stevie Chan, congratulating Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for winning the by-election, maintained the “PD Move” was “unethical, unnecessary and untimely”.

Still, he hoped that Anwar would be an asset in the legislative body.

“I hope he upholds the Pakatan Harapan agenda and safeguards our hope in Malaysia baru.”

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all candidates for a relatively peaceful campaign period,” he said in a statement.

Chan said he was grateful for the support, donations, prayers and acceptance of Port Dickson’s people.

He said that he would take some time off and spend it with his family after weeks of campaigning.

PAS candidate Lt-Kol (Rtd) Mohd Nazari Mokhtar said his party had taught him that whether in a victory or a loss, he had earned the blessing from God.

“We have tried our best for the people of Port Dickson and all Malaysians,” he said.
