MIRI: Residents living along the coastal shores of Sarawak and Sabah, as well as the peninsula states, have been told to be on the alert for high waves that may cause flash floods.
The National Disaster Control Centre in Putrajaya have issued a warning that sea waves may reach 4.8 metres to 4.9 metres.
The warning said this surge in tidal waves will be expected from today (Oct 10) until Oct 12.
A circular was issued by the centre to all relevant state agencies about the impending surge in sea-tides.
The National Disaster Control Centre had called on all state agencies like Bomba, District Offices, Drainage and Irrigation Department to be on alert for any eventualities.
