PUTRAJAYA: The by-election for the Port Dickson parliamentary seat will be held on Oct 13.
The Election Commission also announced that nomination day would fall on Saturday, Sept 29.
The announcement was made by EC deputy chairman Tan Sri Othman Mahmood today (Sept 20).
The parliamentary seat in Negri Sembilan was vacated by MP Datuk Danyal Balagopal Abdullah of PKR after he resigned on Sept 12 to make way for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's (pic) return to Parliament.
In GE14, Danyal won the seat with a majority of 17,710 votes against Barisan Nasional's Datuk V.S Mogan and Mahfuz Roslan of PAS.
The PD by-election will be the fourth since the May 9 polls, but will the first for a parliamentary seat.
The three by-elections before this were held for Sungai Kandis, Seri Setia and Balakong – all state seats in Selangor – following the deaths of the elected representatives.
