(2018 Article): Tommy Thomas quits as AG? It's fake news

PETALING JAYA: Attorney-general Tommy Thomas has dismissed a report that claims he has resigned from his position.

The report, published by news portal FMT, shocked the country, with many going on social media to question its veracity.

“Totally untrue!” was what Thomas has told another news portal, Malaysiakini.

The report was only online for about 10 minutes before it was taken down.

FMT later posted an apology and retraction of the news report, claiming that its sources had retracted their confirmation of the resignation.
