‘Sex predator’ probe set to be wrapped up

PUTRAJAYA: About a month after reports of alleged sexual harassment of housemen surfaced, the investigation into the matter by an independent body looks ready to be wrapped up in a week’s time.

In confirming this, Health Minister Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said the findings would be finalised by next week.

“We’re just waiting for the full report now and expect it to be finalised in a week,” he said when met at the National Day celebrations here yesterday.

He said recommendations on the next course of action in relation to the case would be announced soon.

On July 29, The Star reported that the head of the Orthopaedics Department at a hospital in the Klang Valley was alleged to have sexually harassed female housemen for years.

Following this, an independent body, comprising representatives from the Health Ministry and Women, Family and Community Development Ministry, was formed to investigate the matter.
