Police arrest 14 alleged prostitutes, seize 18 condoms and 4 towels at hotel spa

SERDANG: Police have arrested 14 women for alleged prostitution following a raid at a hotel spa at Seri Kembangan, south of Kuala Lumpur.

Serdang OCPD Asst Comm Ismadi Borhan said police raided the hotel following a tip-off on Thursday (Aug 9).

"We raided the hotel at around 2.15am and arrested 14 women and three men there.

"The women were believed to be masseuses working at the spa," he told reporters at the Serdang police headquarters on Thursday.

He said the police also seized 18 condoms, four towels, a bottle of massage oil and RM328 cash.

"We believe the women were offering sex to their clients in 'special packages' (costing) between RM200 and RM500," he said, adding that the women aged in their 20s and 30s were from Indonesia (four), Thailand (four) and Vietnam (six).

He added that the suspects would be remanded to help with investigations.

Meanwhile in an unrelated case, ACP Ismadi said police have arrested four suspects believed to be involved in selling illegal lottery tickets in Puchong, Serdang and Seri Kembangan.

"Based on a tip-off, we conducted a series of raids and arrested the four suspects at around 6.30pm on Wednesday (Aug 8).

"We seized RM350 in cash as well notes believed to be used to sell the lottery tickets," he said adding that the suspects had been remanded to help with investigations.

He said an hour earlier, police had also raided two premises at Bandar Puchong Jaya for illegal online gambling.

"We arrested seven men and a woman and seized their mobile phones.

"We believe they were using an app installed on their mobile phones and tablet devices for online gambling activities," he said adding that police also seized RM100 in cash.
