KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail (pic) has denied that the voice heard on several short audio clips lashing out at Datuk Seri Azmin Ali is of her husband Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
"That is not true, it is not him. Siapa punya chong ini? (whose work is this). It's not him.
"I have asked him and I also know for sure that is not the voice of my husband," she told reporters after attending the Pakatan Harapan presidential council meeting here on Thursday (Aug2).
Azmin earlier said he was unaware of the matter as he had not heard the audio clips making its rounds on social media.
In one clip, a voice resembling Anwar's can be heard criticising Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad for appointing himself as Khazanah chairman.
In another clip, he says that he told Rafizi Ramli to take on Datuk Seri Azmin Ali for the post of PKR deputy president as the latter is a stooge of Dr Mahathir.
In the final clip, he says that Dr Mahathir had accused him of sodomy before and that he had lost RM30bil in the Forex scandal.
Lembah Pantai MP and PKR communications chief Fahmi Fadzil said there are differences in the voice heard compared to the way Anwar speaks.
"This is intended to create a rift amongst party members. We are dealing with many things as we approach party polls," said Fahmi in a statement.
