Lately it’s never a good Wednesday for Najib

PETALING JAYA: Wednesdays are proving to be really unlucky for Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, the embattled former premier.

Today is Wednesday and Najib will be taken to the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex to face charges at 8.30am.

Similar to Barisan Nasional’s shock defeat in the 14th General Election, the May 9 polling day also fell on a Wednesday.

The first raid which took place in the private home of Najib in Jalan Langgak Duta, began on May 16, a Wednesday.

Last Wednesday on June 27, the police dropped a bombshell on the former premier, as they revealed that the total market value of the seized items out of six premises related to Najib had amounted to between RM900mil and RM1.1bil – the biggest seizure in Malaysian history.

Najib’s arrest yesterday was also the third anniversary of the exposé on the RM2.6bil funds found in Najib’s personal bank account by Sarawak Report and financial daily The Wall Street Journal, on July 3, 2015.
