PETALING JAYA: Khairy Jamaluddin, who lost in his bid for the Umno presidency, has rejected an offer to serve as the new Barisan Nasional secretary-general.

In a tweet on Sunday (July 1), Khairy, who lost to Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, thanked the new Umno president for his offer.

"I told him that I don't want to hold any high position in the party.
