Anas Zubedy shares unique Raya video

PETALING JAYA: Moderation advocate Anas Zubedy's Hari Raya video celebrates two values that are important to Malaysians - multiculturalism and unity.

Anas, through his human development company Zubedy Sdn Bhd, created a unique Raya video that incorporates elements from the four main cultures in Malaysia.

The video uses the typical Gong Xi Gong Xi tune played during Chinese New Year, with English, Tamil, Mandarin and Malay song lyrics.

"This year, we decided to do something different with our videos. For Chinese New Year, we used Raya music in the video. So for Raya, we are using Chinese New Year music," said Anas.

"For Deepavali we will use a Christmas song, and for Christmas we will use Deepavali music," he said.

"We wanted to represent various cultures in our video, that is why we incorporated Malay, Mandarin, Tamil and English into our video," he added.

Anas said that unity and multiculturalism is his company's core brand value.

"If you want to sell the Malaysia brand, we have to choose the rainbow, not just one colour," he said.

"Our strength is having people of various cultures come together, and celebrating each culture. This video is an extension of our beliefs," said Anas.

Anas also printed "four-in-one" packets that can be used for Chinese New Year, Hari Raya, Deepavali or Christmas.
