Khaled Nordin loses Pasir Gudang and Permas


PASIR GUDANG: Johor Barisan Nasional chief Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin (pic) has lost both the Pasir Gudang parliamentary and Permas state seat in GE14.

He garnered 36,888 votes for the parliamentary seat but lost against state PKR chief Hassan Abdul Karim, who received 61,615 votes, while PAS' Ab Aziz Abdullah got 6,278 votes.

Mohamed Khaled, who is the Johor Mentri Besar, lost with a majority of 24,726 votes for the parliamentary seat, which he had previously won in GE13.

He also lost the Permas state seat, in which he was the incumbent, to Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia candidate Datuk Seri Che Zakaria Mohd Salleh.

Mohamed Khaled received 20,047 votes while Che Zakaria got 28,793. He won with a majority of 8,746 votes. PAS candidate Ab Aziz Abdullah received 4,181 votes.

Independent candidates Chee Jock received 227 votes for the Pasir Gudang seat while Rohani Yaacob received 113 votes for the Permas state seat.

Johor Jaya Barisan state seat candidate Datuk Tan Cher Puk (16,777) lost to DAP Liow Cai Tung (32,342) for the second time after GE13. PAS candidate R. Kumutha received 2,605 votes.
