Consider the facts before you vote, Najib tells voters

KUALA TERENGGANU: As GE14 approaches, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has urged voters to make their decisions based on facts.

In his speech, the Barisan Nasional chairman said voters should not allow themselves to be swept away by a "tsunami of lies" as a good nation cannot be born out of threats and personal attacks.

"I urge you, as you make your evaluation, to consider the facts.

"Think about who has the right agenda for our country, who ensures a better future for us and who will lead our nation to success.

"These are the criteria you should consider as mature voters who are able to differentiate real gems from the fakes," he said at the launch of the Urban Transformation Centre here Friday.

Najib, who is on a half-day visit to the state before heading to Langkawi, said Terengganu's future should be with Barisan as it has initiatives that benefit the welfare of the people.

Among them is the East Coast Rail Link project, which he said will bring significant changes to the state.

Najib also listed other initiatives to boost areas such as education, housing and employment.

He also took a swipe at PAS who governed the state for one term after it won in the 1999 general election.

"We experienced a five-year nightmare in Terengganu before, which we don't want to go through again.

"So please, make your choice wisely," he said.
