BAGAN DATUK: The police will give their best services to all candidates in the general election, regardless of their parties, said Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Commenting on Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's claims that his plane was sabotaged, the Barisan Nasional deputy chairman said he symphatised with his plight.
"I hope it is not done by certain parties to prevent him from contesting.
"As Home Minister, I asked the police to be fair to all parties in the elections. I am still waiting on a report by Kedah police chief on the matter," he told a press conference at the Bagan Datuk nomination centre on Saturday.
He added the democratic process must be carried out fully for all those contesting in the elections.
