IPOH: PKR will be contesting five parliamentary and 14 state seats in Perak in GE14 with several candidates move to different constituencies.
State party chairman Dr Mohd Nor Manuty said their candidates comprise mostly entrepreneurs and professionals of all ages to contribute to Pakatan Harapan's victory.
Their youngest candidate is Muhammad Aiman Aizuddin, 29, an entrepreneur, who will stand in the Batu Kurau state seat, where he is a local.
Three incumbents are defending their seats - Gopeng MP Dr Lee Boon Chye, Simpang Pulai assemblyman Tan Kar Hing, and Kuala Sepetang assemblyman Chua Yee Ling.
Several notable shifts in seats will see G. Manivannan, the incumbent Kapar MP from Selangor, set to contest the Hutan Melintang state seat.
The incumbent MP for Lumut, Mohamad Imran Abd Hamid, will now stand in the Bukit Chandan state seat.
Meanwhile, the incumbent MP for Hutan Melintang, S. Kesavan, is being fielded as a candidate for the Sungai Siput parliamentary seat, a notable hot seat that would see a multi-cornered fight with MIC, PAS and the incumbent Dr Michael Jeyakumar of Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM).
Dr Jeyakumar had contested and won the parliamentary seat under the PKR ticket in 2008 and 2013. He will be defending the seat under the PSM logo in GE14.
The incumbent for the Teja state seat, Chang Lih Kang, is moving up the ranks to contest against Barisan's Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon for the Tanjung Malim parliamentary seat.
For other parliamentary seats, the candidates are Ejazi Yahaya (Padang Rengas) and Pakhrurrazi Arshad (Bagan Datuk).
As for the state seats, they are Nor Sham Abu Samah (Kenering), Muhd Aiman Aizuddin (Batu Kurau), Abd Yunus Jamhari (Kuala Kurau), Ahmad Zaki Husin (Alor Pongsu), Lukman Yahya (Chenderoh), Madhi Hassan (Lintang), Muhamad Arafat Varisai (Hulu Kinta), Mohd Azlan Helmi (Tualang Sekah), Sandrea Ng Shy Ching (Teja), and Mohamad Maharani Md Tasi (Sungai Manik).
