Amanah Selangor chief Izham to run in Pandan Indah, say party sources

SABAK BERNAM: Amanah Selangor chief Izham Hashim has been confirmed to contest in the Pandan Indah state seat, according to party sources.

The seat, formerly known as Cempaka before the delineation, comes under the Pandan parliamentary seat in Selangor.

Izham declined to confirm this, and told The Star to wait until Tuesday or Wednesday when the top Amanah leadership announce its candidates.

Many of the big guns in Amanah are expected to contest in Selangor, including the president (Mohamad Sabu), he said when met at the Amanah's BBQ programme at the party's Sabak division office here on Friday night.

It was still not known which candidates from PAS and Umno will be selected to contest the seat.

PAS vice-president Datuk Iskandar Abdul Samad was the state assemblyman for Cempaka.

Izham also said that it has been confirmed that Amanah will contest in Seri Serdang, Puchong while Lembah Jaya, Ampang will go to PKR even though Amanah had requested for it.

He said that the Sungai Panjang seat is likely to go to PKR but it was not confirmed yet.

Meanwhile, Amanah candidate Ahmad Mustain Othman who was also at the BBQ programme has been confirmed to contest for the Sabak state seat.

State PAS commissioner Sallehen Mukyi won the seat in the last general election with 9,421 votes, beating Abdul Halim Udin from Barisan Nasional who received 9,022 votes.
