Azmin announces dissolution of Selangor state assembly

SHAH ALAM: The Selangor Legislative Assembly was dissolved at 10.30am on Monday at the Istana Alam Shah here.

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azmin Ali later at noon made an official announcement on the dissolution at the state secretariat.

In his speech, Azmin said Selangor Ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah signed the dissolution proclamation and consented to the dissolution of the 13th Selangor Legislative Assembly effective Monday (April 9).

"Until a new state government is sworn in, the current administration will remain as the caretaker government," said Azmin.

He thanked the people of Selangor for having given him the mandate and trust to develop the state and help the people prosper.

"I and my colleagues in the executive council have given our best to develop the state and defend the people and their rights.

"The mandate that was given by the people will be returned to the people," said Azmin.

Azmin and other exco members returned their official vehicles to Selangor state secretary Datuk Mohd Amin Ahmad Ahya after the announcement.
