Selangor Legislative Assembly to be dissolved on Monday

KLANG: The Selangor Legislative Assembly will be dissolved on Monday (April 9).

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azmin Ali will have an audience with Selangor Ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah at 10.30am at Istana Alam Shah.

The dissolution of the state assembly will be done in a ceremony at the palace which will also be attended by members of the Royal Council, Speaker Hannah Yeoh, state secretary Datuk Mohd Amin Ahmad Ahya, state legal adviser Datuk Nik Suhaimi Nik  Sulaiman and state finance officer Datuk Nor Azmie Diron.
 
Azmin is also scheduled to make an official announcement of the dissolution at the state secretariat lobby at about noon.
 
Once the dissolution ceremony is concluded, all state assembly constituency seats will become vacant.
 
However, senior exco member Datuk Teng Chang Khim said that the executive council and Mentri Besar will remain in office.
 
 “We will remain as the caretaker government until the election is over,’’ said Teng.
