KUANTAN: Famous Malaysian snake catcher firefighter Abu Zarin Hussin (pic) will always be remembered by his colleagues.
On of them, Mohd Ikhwan Hafizi Ali, 30, said he will always treasure the memories of capturing snakes together with him.
"I will never forget how he taught me to capture snakes and to handle them. I will always remember the many snake operations we went for together," said Mohd Ikhwan when contacted Friday.
"When villagers lodged a complaint of a snake in their garden or house, we would go together to catch the snake, even when we were not working.
"There were times when we even found ourselves in a snakes' nest while searching for them in residential areas. We were almost bitten many times," he added.
During his four years as a firefighter in Temerloh, Pahang, Ikhwan said Abu Zarin would often take time to give briefings, to educate and expose the public about venomous snakes and animals.
Abu Zarin, 33, passed away at 12.40am on Friday (March 16) after he was attacked by a cobra during an operation in Bentong on Monday (March 12).
