Two held over dead woman found in cupboard


GEORGE TOWN: Police have arrested two men after a dead body was found in a cupboard in a flats in Paya Terubong.

The dead woman, Santi Restauli Simbolon, 25, from Indonesia was found in a cupboard of  Block B of Green Garden Flats on at 10pm on Tuesday (March 13).

George Town OCPD Asst Comm Anuar Omar said police have arrested two suspects who are believed to be friends of the woman's boyfriend.

The body was found after one of the roommates broke the door of a locked room due to the stench emanating from the room.

ACP Anuar said police are looking for the boyfriend, Sandip Gurung, 27 from Nepal who is still at large.

A post mortem on the body would be conducted on Wednesday.
