KUALA LUMPUR: Maria Farida was awarded RM400,000 in damages by the High Court here in her suit against a cosmetics businesswoman and her daughter for making defamatory statements against the actress last year.
Judicial Commissioner Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh instructed Hadijah Mohamed Mokhtar to pay RM300,000 and her eldest daughter Nur Shazleen Anis Mohd Yusoff to pay RM100,000 in damages to the plaintiff.
