Kit Siang mum on Gelang Patah contest

KUALA LUMPUR: Gelang Patah MP Lim Kit Siang (pic) remained tight-lipped on whether he will defend his parliamentary seat in the coming general election.

"I do not know whether the coming one (general election) is going to be my last battle or whether I should even take part in it

"In fact, I had a fall, so we will see," the veteran DAP leader told reporters at Parliament lobby on Tuesday.

Lim had to sit out several scheduled events after sustaining a knock to his head.

The 77-year-old injured his forehead after slipping in the toilet at his Gelang Patah home on March 1.

During the last general election, the Gelang Patah seat was loaned to Umno to go against Lim. The seat was originally allocated for MCA.

However, the Umno candidate and former Johor mentri besar Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Othman lost to Lim, who won with a 14,762-vote majority.
