Veteran ‘Ali Setan’ actor Azmil Mustapha dies

PETALING JAYA: Veteran actor Azmil Mustapha(pic) passed away on Wednesday at the age of 65.

The Star's Malay-language portal mStar reported that Azmil passed away at 12.40pm at his home in Shah Alam.

This was confirmed by his brother Aziph Mustapha.

“We apologise on behalf of Azmil for any past mistakes and ask for your prayers,” Aziph was quoted as saying.

Azmil will be taken to the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Alam Mosque for the funeral and prayers before being taken to the Seksyen 21 Shah Alam Islamic Cemetery for burial.

In November 2017, he was admitted to the University of Malaysia Medical Centre due to breathing difficulties.

Azmil, who acted in box office hits such as Mekanik and Ali Setan in the 1980s, was a single father with five children, aged between 32 and 15.

He also has three grandchildren aged five and two.
