IGP: Search for Indira Gandhi's ex-husband has never stopped

KUALA LUMPUR: Bukit Aman has never stopped looking for M. Indira Gandhi's ex-husband since a warrant of arrest was issued by the Ipoh High Court, said Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun (pic).

Indira's ex-husband K. Pathmanathan @ Muhammad Riduan Abdullah had taken daughter Prasana Diksa away when she was just 11 months old.

The Inspector-General of Police said the police have been trying to locate Indira's ex-husband ever since a warrant was issued by the Ipoh High Court on May 30, 2014.

"We have not managed to track him down yet but we issued a media statement on April 29, 2016, urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact the police.

"We also consistently updated Indira Gandhi's lawyer on steps taken to track down her ex-husband via two letters issued on June 13 and July 20, 2017," he said.

Mohamad Fuzi also called on the public to relay any pertinent information on the ex-husband's whereabouts.

Mohamad Fuzi was commenting on Indira Gandhi's statement that the IGP could now act and locate her daughter.

This follows a landmark decision where the Federal Court ruled in her favour Monday (Jan 29), nullifying the unilateral conversion of her three children - Tevi Darshiny, 20; Karan Dinesh, 18; and Prasana Diksa, now aged nine - to Islam by her ex-husband.

The Federal Court on April 29, 2016 had ordered the Inspector-General of Police to execute a warrant of arrest for Muhammad Riduan, who had disobeyed the Ipoh High Court's order to return Prasana to her mother after granting Indira full custody of her children.
