Dr Mahathir has hijacked Pakatan, says Liow

KUALA LUMPUR: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad (pic) has hijacked PKR and Pakatan Harapan, Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said.

The MCA president added that PKR, which was set up to fight for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, had "sold out" its own principles.

"Its reformation has come to an end. It has been 'reformed' by Dr Mahathir now," he said.

Liow was speaking to reporters after launching the website for MCA's School of Political Studies at Wisma MCA here.

Pressed on whether PKR should be disbanded with Dr Mahathir announced as Pakatan's choice for the prime minister's post should it win the next general election, Liow said the party was no longer relevant.

"Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia is a party that has just been formed and yet now it is deemed the biggest party in Pakatan and is now leading Pakatan.

"Pakatan's existence is a marriage of convenience, which hasn't brought any meaning to the rakyat," he said.

Meanwhile, on MCA's School of Political Studies' website, Liow said the site is meant to disseminate accurate information to the public on MCA's principles, ideologies and contribution.

A total of 88 books and journals on politics, economics, culture and religion are available on the website.

It can be accessed at http://sps.mca.org.my/main.aspx.
