All eyes on widow at crime scene

JOHOR BARU: The widow of the man who was murdered at a petrol station in Taman Pelangi here drew a crowd of curious onlookers when she returned to the crime scene to offer prayers.

The Vietnamese woman arrived at the petrol station wearing a mask and accompanied by a woman friend.

They held special prayers led by two Buddhist monks at the petrol station at around 5pm yesterday.

Police had earlier cordoned off a section of the petrol station for the prayers, which took about 15 minutes.

The prayer session attracted a crowd, with many onlookers ­taking out their mobile phones to record it.

The victim’s widow knelt down and cried on the very same spot where her husband was viciously attacked and murdered by four assailants on Sunday evening.

When the prayers were conclu­ded, the two women and the monks immediately left the area.

It was recently reported that the man, identified only as Ah Chiu, is believed to be a leader of an underworld organisation.
