PETALING JAYA: The killers behind a brutal attack at a petrol station in Johor Baru must be brought to justice as soon as possible given the severity of the crime, says Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye.
The Malaysia Crime Prevention Foundation senior vice-chairman said it was “a vicious and cruel act”.
“How could the perpetrators be so inhumane? They must be brought to justice,” he said.
Lee also called on the public to help the police by providing any information related to the case.
Malaysians Against Rape, Assault and Snatch Theft (Marah) founder Dave Avran said the attackers’ brutality was “very worrying”.
“They acted with such aggressiveness and cruelty in public.
“Secondly, the apathy of those watching and recording the incident but not taking any action to help the victim – by honking or calling the police – is worrying as well,” he said.
The incident was caught on video and has since gone viral.
Johor police chief Comm Datuk Mohd Khalil Kader Mohd said the victim’s Vietnamese wife, in her 20s, was inside the Polo car and immediately ran for help.
