Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the risk assessment recommended that countries should actively target the small sub-set of NPOs most vulnerable to terrorism financing

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno is the last fortress for the Malays and Muslims in Malaysia, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

“It’s not a wrong choice to choose Umno. It’s a waste if the youngsters sideline Umno because Umno is the last fortress for Malays and Muslims," he said in his speech at the launch of the Persidangan Kepimpinan Mahasiswa Nasional (Pemanas) 2017 at the Putra World Trade Centre here on Thursday.

The six-day conference, which started Wednesday, involves 350 students from public and private universities.

Dr Ahmad Zahid also urged students to help spread the awareness to their friends to join in Umno’s struggles.

"It is a fight for the Malays without setting aside other races; it is a fight for Islam without sidelining other religions," he said.

No matter which platform graduates come from, whether overseas or local, they are all on the frontline to lead the country, said Dr Ahmad Zahid.
