Three Bangladeshis implicated in 'monster mum' case identified

JOHOR BARU: Police have identified three Bangladeshi nationals as the main suspects in a case where two young girls were allegedly prostituted by their own mother.

Johor police chief Datuk Mohd Khalil Kader Mohd said the three suspects include the mother's boyfriend, who is still in hiding here.

“We have identified the three main suspects and have withheld their passports,” he said at a press conference here on Monday.

Johor police arrested the woman in Taman Bintang, Senai last month along with seven foreigners and their male employer to aid investigations.

He said the eight men and the 39-year-old mother are being questioned and were still under remand.

He added that seven of those remanded have expired work permits.

The mother is said to have forced her daughters – aged 10 and 13 – into sleeping with three men, including her Bangladeshi lover of eight years, for money.

The two girls are now under the care of the state Welfare Department.
